THE LORD IS WITH YOU
What do these five words mean to you?
To the prophet Zachariah and God’s people in Jerusalem, these five words were special, uplifting, and brought great peace and security.
Zephaniah, another prophet, knew that judgment was coming to the people of Jerusalem; coming due to their complacency and unpleasing attitude towards the Lord. They had convinced themselves that the Lord did not care about them and would not intervene to help them through their struggles and difficulties. In spite of this, the prophet shares what the Lord would do for them…
“The Lord your God is with you, he is might to save, he will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17-18
What a great promise! A promise of the Lord’s presence, his peace, his care, his love, and his praise for his people.
This is what the Lord communicated to them through Zachariah as well. That, in their discouragement, struggles, lack of confidence, and feelings of abandonment, he was still with them and for them. What a wonderful reminder of HOPE for God’s people!
What are you facing today?
